The Process For Booking a Photo Session

It’s Important That You Get The Most Out Of Your Portrait Session! When you call to book your portrait session, we will set up a time and day that’s convenient for you. We’ll get together to discuss your portrait session things like: what’s important to you about your photographs, what you expect from your portrait session besides “AWESOME” photographs.

My goal is to see your vision as you see it and make your dream portraits all about you!

We will discuss the location where ever you choose to have your photographs taken. There are lots of cool locations to be photographed at! Some of the favorite locations are local, downtown Atlanta, Midtown, Centennial Park, etc… even your own backyard! It’s really up to you or I can recommend my golden secret spots for your portrait session.

We will discuss your wardrobe selection knowing which clothes that are ideal to wear and which type of clothing you should avoid. Did you know by wearing certain clothes could make you look 10 pounds heavier in photographs?

I’ll likely have a bunch of questions like—where do you like to hang out? What do you do for fun? Are you involved in any extra-curricular activities, etc? The more I know about you: the better I can plan your portrait session and make it all about you! Which allows for photographs you will absolutely cry tears of joy over?

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR PORTRAIT SESSION

Newborns: Newborn sessions are usually scheduled prior to delivery. It’s best to photograph newborns within the first 10 days after delivery, the sooner the better! Newborn portrait sessions can last up to 3-4 hours. So please come prepared to relax, have fun, and with plenty of change of clothes.  Extra outfits are always better than not enough. Texture is everything in portraits. Please, don’t be shy with bright colors, layers, and unique outfits.

If you are pregnant and eagerly waiting on your newborn to arrival for portraits for please sure to contact us PRIOR giving birth. We will fit you into a schedule by knowing a tentative delivery date. The ideal time to photograph newborns are the first 10 days of birth.

Toddlers and Children: Please stick to your child’s usual nap and feeding times- this is extremely critical for a successful portrait session.  Please be sure to feed your child and take care of bathroom or diapers prior to your session.  If you have decided to bribe your child with candy, special places, etc. please let us know! Depending on the wardrobe you have chosen for your child could set the tone for styling your child’s portraits. So depending on your child’s wardrobe can either make or break the images.

For this reason, we like to be included in selecting and approving outfits for your child’s portrait session.  We are extremely happy to come browse through your child’s closet or send you links for ideas in the days prior to your portrait session. Outfits, Outfits, and Outfits! Bring lots of change of outfits, lots of accessories: tights, scarves, hats, headband, jackets and vests.

Families: Please make sure all family members arrive on time, waiting for latecomers means less time, and fewer portraits. We absolutely love photographing families in their natural element. We also know some beautiful places in or around the Cartersville area. Your portrait session will more than likely take place at several locations. We love to photograph families at different location during their portrait session.

Models, Actors & Corporate: We realize the importance of headshots can get you the job, the promote your brand, and you need amazing results! We can help you with your comp card, updating your portfolio, or getting that perfect image for your business card. We will assist in making you feel comfortable- to obtain natural expressions. Simply relaxed, fun session in the studio, or on location for beautiful images. We’ll also assist you with lining up for hair and make too. (Hair and Make are additional)

Valentine’s Day Boudoir Session in Cartersville / Atlanta: We understand how important and private these type of images can are. Prior to your boudoir portrait session- we will discuss whether you prefer to have your images taken in the privacy of your own bedroom or very nice hotel. However, please keep in mind, staging is everything.

So depending on how your bedroom may be styled it may or may not be possible to be photographed in your bedroom.

Another alternative which is probably best- is to be photographed in very nice hotel.  Planning what you will wear is essential; the more you have the more we will have to select from. Bring as many as accessorizes as possible- pearls, hats, chains, whatever makes you feel sexy, and glamorous. Definitely, be sure to get plenty of rest and drink plenty of water prior to your boudoir session.

When you arrive for your boudoir session, there will be music playing, champagne and refreshments…and a completely relaxed atmosphere.  You should expect to have fun!

WHAT TO WEAR ON YOUR PICTURE DAY!

Well, for starters you want to avoid busy patterns! These busy patterns tend to make you look 20 pounds heavier in photographs.  The busy patterns actually draws more attention than having the focus on you.

Definitely at all cost avoid big logos like NIKE™ or GAP™ across the chest), bright white (creamy white is okay) and strong red. But, sometimes it’s fun to break all the rules and wear that wild shirt or your most favorite white sweater and that’s okay. We’ll choose different backgrounds or locations for those clothes.

The time for fall/winter clothes has arrived. It’s definitely time to start putting away summer/spring clothes. Here are a few ideas to where for your next
fall/winter family portraits!

Also, please remember to bring lots of clothes to choose from—that way we have a lot to work with for mixing and matching. We probably won’t be able to use everything, though.

Now that you have  a general idea of what to wear to your next portrait shoot. CALL NOW to schedule 770-866-0987

Generally, I would recommend avoiding stripes for your top attire at all cost! Again, stripes, designs, prints, etc. tend to pull the focus of you, the subject. Throwing on a hip
jacket over your attire will definitely tone down the design and you will remain in the spotlight, not your shirt!

Get creative! Bring hats, cool shoes, boots, jackets, jewelry, scarves—you name it! Got an awesome prom dress? Feel free to bring that, too. I love a good prom dress in a grungy location—it’s fun and unexpected. If you’re unsure about something, bring it anyway.

Don’t cut your hair! Well, I don’t mean never cut your hair but don’t cut it right before pictures. Plan your session at least 2-3 weeks after a hair cut to give your hair a chance to grow into its new style.  Bring props that are meaningful to you.

Are you a fan of vintage? Here are a few ideas for the vintage! I just love this look!
